By accessing or using MoralScan (the website and Chrome extension), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not use our service.

Description of Service

MoralScan provides ethical brand scores through a Chrome extension and website. Our service allows users to:

• View ethical scores for brands based on publicly available information
• Select personal principles to customize scoring (e.g., Climate Action, Fair Labor, Ukraine Support)
• Access detailed reports and sources for brand ratings

Important: MoralScan provides informational content only. Our scores are not financial, legal, medical, or professional advice. We do not recommend or discourage purchasing from any brand — we simply present data to help you make informed decisions.

AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Some brand scores on MoralScan are generated using artificial intelligence based on publicly available data. AI-generated scores are clearly labeled with an "AI Generated" badge. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any scores — whether AI-generated or manually curated.

No Guarantee of Completeness

MoralScan's brand database is continuously growing. We do not cover every brand, and not all brands will have scores available. Scores may change over time as new information becomes available or as companies update their practices. We make no guarantee that any particular brand will be included in our database.

Freemium Model and Usage Limits

MoralScan operates on a freemium model:

• Free tier: 10 brand scans per day
• Premium tier: €4.99/month for unlimited brand scans

We reserve the right to adjust usage limits, pricing, or features at any time. Premium subscribers will be notified of pricing changes at least 30 days in advance.

User-Submitted Content

Users may submit tips, suggestions, or information about brands through our platform. By submitting content, you grant MoralScan a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, modify, and publish that content. We review all submissions but do not guarantee that submitted content will be published or used. You are responsible for ensuring that any content you submit is accurate and does not violate any third-party rights.

Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you:

• Abuse the service (e.g., attempting to circumvent usage limits)
• Submit false, misleading, or defamatory information
• Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access the service
• Violate these Terms of Service or applicable laws

You may delete your account at any time from your dashboard. Upon deletion, your personal data will be permanently removed from our systems.

Neutrality Clause

MoralScan is a neutral information platform. We do not endorse, recommend, or discourage purchasing from any brand. Our scores reflect publicly available information and are not expressions of our opinions, political views, or affiliations. Users choose their own principles, and scores are personalized based on those choices. MoralScan takes no position on which principles are "correct" or which brands users should support.

Limitation of Liability

MoralScan is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, MoralScan and its operators are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. This includes, but is not limited to, damages resulting from purchasing decisions made based on our scores, inaccuracies in scores or data, service interruptions, or data loss.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of MoralScan after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, you must stop using the service.

Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable international laws. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of MoralScan will be resolved in accordance with the jurisdiction where MoralScan operates.
